Vydia Makes History With Artist’s Earthena and DJ Yin

Two Vydia Artist’s Broke World Records with Longest Song and Longest DJ Set

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 3, 2022) - Despite building their lives and music careers thousands of miles apart, artist’s Earthena and DJ Yin now have one rare feat in common: obtaining world records. Earthena’s record for longest officially released song was documented in Canada while Yin’s record for the longest live DJ set took place in Nigeria. In addition to making history, both parties were also supported by leading technology platform, Vydia, which equips labels and their artists with the tools and infrastructure they need to be successful.

For Earthena, the anonymous collective of artists, this achievement manifested itself in their ambitious 48 hour, 39 minute and 35 second song, “Symphony of the Crown.” Meticulously executed, the song is described as “the artist’s perception of the global experience of the coronavirus pandemic, expressed in instrumental form.” Attempting to musically emulate the emotional effects of COVID-19, the song was split, much like a symphonic piece, into seven different movements which serve to represent a spectrum of emotion. On the length of the song, Earthena explains that it’s sum equals that of a solar day on Mars and Earth combined. This was specifically chosen because “it represents the idea of two different worlds,” pre and post-COVID, and highlights the incredible strides made in the realm of space travel. In this way, their Guinness World Record title pales in comparison to the ethos of their ambitious project.

For Nigerian-based DJ, Yin, her efforts to obtain a world record for the longest DJ set looked rather different. Inspired by her record-breaking predecessor, DJ Obi, Yin took on the challenge of playing non-stop music for 243 hours and 30 minutes in a restaurant in Lagos, with steadfast resolve. The singer was not alone in her endeavor and garnered support from her fellow musical peers to help her party in person and online throughout the 11-day streak. Finally, on October 1, 2021 Yin took to Instagram to share the news that she had officially broken the world record for the Longest DJ Set. With her newfound publicity, Yin also announced the release of her first single of the year titled “Domitila.”

Powered by Vydia, both Earthena and Yin were able to achieve these tremendous goals aligning with Vydia’s mission to empower artists and labels to push boundaries and be more in control of their creative work.
